What We Do

CharityComms is for anyone whose communications role is integral to the success of their charity. CharityComms seeks to support communications staff and volunteers working in large and small charities, non-governmental organisations and other relevant areas in the UK.

Our goal for the next three years is to define the communications discipline within our sector thus becoming a reputable body with responsibility for setting standards.

CharityComms aims to cater for a range of communications skills within charities and non-profits. This includes internal communications, publications, media information, marketing, new media, campaigning, public affairs and policies to name but a few.

CharityComms's Mission is to:

  • Provide a voice for the interest of not-for-profit communications both within our own organisation and within the sector
  • Act as a catalyst for the development of new communication techniques
  • Provide a platform for a debate on issues that affect charity communications
  • Offer a forum for networking across the sector
  • Ensure that good practice is shared among members
  • Encourage continuing professional development (CPD) in order to raise communications standards
  • Provide advice and guidelines to charity communicators
  • Create benchmarks and standards for charity communicators
