How do you help people influence governments with a positive message? WWF's annual Earth Hour involves up to a billion people worldwide who sign up to show they care about our world. At 8.30pm on Saturday, 28th March, 2009, some 13 million people in the UK said they took part by switching off their lights for an hour to show they want action to tackle climate change. We heard how WWF-UK integrated a global - to - local communications campaign for Earth Hour that generated massive interest here and around the world.

Helen talked about how to create behaviour change through communications. She focused on the environmental sector with case studies of two projects designed to encourage people to be more environmentally friendly. Helen talked through the range of tactics they employed including advertising, competitions, websites, media work and direct mail campaigns.
