To guide participants on the need for child protection (CP) and the key steps for developing CP policies and procedures.

Learning objectives:

* Understand organisational CP and why it is important
* Have explored strategies to take forward the development and implementation of CP policies and procedures, including undertaking stakeholder and risk analyses in the UK context and with Southern partners.
* Have been introduced to the stages which make up the building of a child-safe organisation, including underlying principles and components of a CP policy and standards.
* Have started to develop an action plan to take forward CP in their organisations.
* Have identified obstacles and solutions in the context of their own organisations
