CharityComms' individual members have voted in two new trustees to represent them on the charity’s board in their first members’ election.

Victoria Shooter, Director of Communications at The National Deaf Children's Society and Steve Palmer, who is Press and Public Affairs Manager at the Social Care Institute for Excellence, are joining the trustees of the professional body for charity communicators.

Joe Saxton, Chair of Trustees and Driver of Ideas at corporate member nfpSynergy, said: "With CharityComms' membership base growing, it’s important that its development is shaped by its members. It’s not always easy finding trustees, so we were excited to have skilled, experienced and enthusiastic comms professionals coming forward to take part in our election."

Victoria Shooter said she was delighted to be appointed as a representative of CharityComms’ members. "I'm very much looking forward to using my experience and feedback from members to help shape the future resources and events - which are particularly valuable in this testing economic climate," she said.

Steve Palmer said: "I'm really happy to be joining the board at CharityComms. I’m keen to encourage and support charities to constantly improve the way that they’re perceived, and this is a great opportunity for me to contribute."

Trustees help CharityComms to meet the needs of its members and its wider remit to improve communications standards across the sector. This is the first time that members have voted for the charity's trustees.
