Cats Protection has appointed DMS to handle its direct marketing account.

The agency won the account following a competitive pitch that included incumbent agency TDA. TDA had worked with the UK’s biggest feline charity since 2000.

Cats Protection director of fundraising and communications Janet Wickens, explains: “We have recently embarked on an ambitious fundraising strategy that will require us to dramatically increase our donor base and also make our existing donors work harder for us. It seemed an appropriate time to look at our agency arrangements and after a long period of review, we are delighted to appoint DMS as our agency in direct marketing.

She adds: “We look forward to working with them in building on the success story of our strengthening market position. We are extremely grateful to TDA who helped initiate professional fundraising at the charity and have guided us towards establishing a highly profitable direct marketing programme”.

DMS executive creative director Tony Weller says: “One in four households in Britain have cats as pets, and we look forward to working alongside Cats Protection in engaging cat owners and developing fruitful relationships with them.”
