Job Purpose
Support the development and implementation of our brand and communications strategies in order to improve awareness and understanding of Save the Children in the UK and internationally.
Key accountabilities
- Co-ordinate mass communications projects by liaising with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
- Monitor activities across the organisation to check alignment with overall brand and communications strategies.
- Engage staff and external suppliers with Save the Children's brand values through inductions, training and reviews.
- Plan and implement measurement and evaluation of communications projects.
- Oversee development of branding tools and materials.
- Run an internal communications programme to keep staff informed of progress.
- Take delegated responsibility for managing budgets for specific projects, operating within the budget available and making effective use of Save the Children’s resources.
- Organise, prioritise and manage your own workload, often to tight deadlines.
- Ensure that you work to the best of your ability and demonstrate high levels of commitment to Save the Children in order to meet the objectives of your role.
- Perform other duties as directed and relevant to the job in the opinion of the Brand Manager.
- Be available to work out of hours as required, for example during emergencies or periods of high media activity.
Working contacts
Internal: staff at all levels.
External: staff from across the Alliance, volunteers, individual donors, campaigners and general public.
Other: consultants, freelancers, corporate donors, partner agencies, the media, local community.
Person specification
- Significant experience and a proven track record in brand marketing.
- Experience of working with marketing and media buying agencies.
- Experience in measurement and evaluation of communications projects.
- A skilled communicator, able to liaise internally and externally at all levels.
- Keen interest in brand and marketing trends, innovation and best practice.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good project management skills.
- Ability to analyse numerical data and communicate it effectively.
- Administratively self-serving and computer literate.
