Anne Nicholls (MCIPR), Freelance PR consultant, has undertaken research to find out more about how small charities manage their communications, how they define the term "communications" and what their key communication needs are.
The report is based on a mixture of primary and secondary research. Primary research involved interviews with sector-wide organisations and individuals with a broad perspective of the third sector, plus interviews with around 15 small charities. These took place in August and September 2010.
Secondary research involved an analysis of existing research and information about how charities handle communications.
