I'm an editorial consultant specialising in health, social and environmental issues. With more than 14 years' experience in the field, I have a solid track record of producing copy that is engaging, concise and easy to read, without over-simplifying complex issues. My experience across the charity publishing sector, particularly as an in-house publishing manager, means I have a good knowledge of the entire publishing process, from commissioning to sign-off, and an insider's knowledge of what clients expect from their freelance support.
My services include writing, editing, substantive rewriting and coordinating projects ranging from digital media to educational materials, books, reports, marketing literature and annual reviews. Much of what I do involves reworking dry, technical information to produce copy that is lively and engaging. I have strong interview skills and a particular interest in interviewing service users to develop inspiring case studies.
I'm an NCVO Approved Consultant, an associate of the Society for Editors and Proofreaders and a member of the National Union of Journalists.
