Many charities have 'slow-burn issues' with the media which flare up from time to time, such as animal research, 'welfare slackers', illegal immigrants and so on. These are not unexpected crisis issues, but crop up like perennial weeds. How do charity PRs respond to these types of media queries and is it possible to turn negative attention into positive coverage?
This is the first meeting of the CharityComms PR Networking Group. Following a plenary presentation on the topic from Elly Button, acting head of media at Shelter, delegates will be able to share thoughts and experiences of this issue within small group discussions.
Attendance at the event is free and exclusive to CharityComms members, but spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
