Facebook. The chances are your charity is on it, and very active too. Yet it’s a channel that can be taken for granted, often seen as a place to dump any old content, with no clear strategy or direction.
At this event, we homed in on Facebook, exploring how we can strategically use this extremely social and ever-evolving channel to help achieve our organisational goals.
Presentations
Jon Ware, digital content lead at Anthony Nolan gave an in-depth exploration of Anthony Nolan’s 2016 Facebook content strategy – what worked, what didn’t, and the obstacles faced to make a dramatic move away from transactional content and towards real storytelling.
Bernard Muscat, senior social media officer at Macmillan Cancer Support discussed the process and challenges they recently faced, both internally and externally, in updating and streamlining 33 regional Facebook accounts into just 13, making them more accessible to followers and delivering a clear standard of service, appearance, and content.
About the South West Networking Group
The South West Networking Group is a network of comms professionals working in UK charities and not-for-profit organisations in the South West of England and Wales.
Meeting three times a year in Bristol, each event focuses on a different comms topic with presentations, group discussions and networking. These events are a great opportunity to meet your peers, compare notes on workplace practices and share successes, ideas, challenges and inspiration. The group is designed to encourage networking and peer-to-peer support, sharing issues in a ‘safe’ and relaxed environment.
If you’d like to be added to the South West Networking Group mailing list please contact Hanna Chowdhury.
