Real-time crisis management simulation: a practical introduction for charities
Ever wondered how you’d cope in a realistic, fast-moving crisis scenario? We’re offering you the chance to experience a real-time crisis simulation in a safe online space.
This highly interactive and realistic session puts you inside a developing crisis and asks you to respond in real time. Working through a single fast-moving and evolving scenario, you will experience how issues emerge, escalate and change direction across traditional and digital channels, and how internal pressures can collide with external expectations.
You’ll practice:
- Thinking under pressure
- Assessing evolving risks
- Deciding when to speak
- Staying disciplined with your messages
- Understanding the consequences of each decision point
- All in a safe online space designed to help you build resilience.
This session will combine guidance, discussion, and real examples to help you understand not just what to do in a crisis, but how to think when time, information, and certainty are in short supply. By the end of the session, you’ll have a clearer sense of what effective crisis communications look like, and how leadership, judgement and timing determine whether a crisis damages your charity, or strengthens its reputation.
Who will lead the training?
This training will be delivered by Chris Jameson, a former BBC journalist and now Director of Inside Edge Media Training.
How will the session run?
The session runs from 10 – 12:30, with a subsequent 30 minute surgery until 13:00 when Chris can address any issues specific to your organisation.
