Role purpose:
The multimedia editor is primarily responsible for managing our website – including generating, editing and uploading content and for enhancing its digital presence and outreach. The role also requires working across the medium of print and video as and when required, and managing corporate social media profiles.
Key responsibilities:
- Day to day management of the website, from a production and content perspective
- Ensure web articles are well written, relevant and contain suitable imagery
- Work with programme managers to identify compelling ideas for web stories and maintain a content pipeline
- Ensure that content and design of online and print-based material is consistent with the house style and brand
- Manage the monthly electronic newsletter, including sourcing content and images and using newsletter software to distribute it
- Expand the charity’s digital reach by the use of content distribution services
- Manage the organisation’s social media presence via online networks
- Help produce video material on a need basis for use on the website and in presentations
- Explore and drive forward online cross-promotion opportunities with other relevant organisations, resource centres or online forums
- Work with colleagues to make our knowledge and work accessible to media and general audiences
- Report back on web metrics, ie user traffic, online mentions, social media statistics
- Contribute and participate in other communications activity
