A day in the life of a Charity Brand Manager - no matter the size of your charity

One could argue that a brand is a charities strongest asset. But with a general misunderstanding of what a brand is, managing one is not without its challenges. Kimberley has worked in a variety of brand and marketing roles at small, medium, and large charities. Kimberley will talk about what a typical day in the life of a charity brand manager has looked like at all sizes of organisations and will share tips and lessons she’s learnt along the way too.

Kimberley Ferguson
brand manager, Christian Aid

Breakout discussions

We’ll use breakout rooms for some much needed peer-to-peer discussions.

The journey from brand drift to rebrand…and beyond

When a brand isn’t managed actively, all sorts of things can happen! This is the story of one organisation’s journey to rebrand – the good, bad, and ugly of brand management learnt along the way. Emma will share what prompted CSW’s rebrand, the lessons she’s learned about brand management in a small/medium charity, and what brand management looks like at CSW now. Emma has worked in a variety of marketing, communications and business development roles in the charity and professional services sectors.

About the Brand Breakfast

CharityComms’ Brand Breakfast is a group for professionals working in brand to come together to discuss issues of mutual interest and share examples of good practice.

The format of the meetings is usually two or three presentations on a specific topic, followed by small group discussions, providing a combination of best practice and peer-to-peer sharing.

These events are a great opportunity to meet your peers, compare notes on workplace practices and share successes, ideas, challenges and inspiration. The group is designed to encourage networking and peer to peer support, sharing issues in a ‘safe’ environment.

If you’d like to be one of the first to hear about these events, please email to be added to the mailing list.

If you’re interested in presenting at a future event or joining the steering group, please email Vanessa.

Sponsorship opportunities

Sponsorship opportunities for this event will open up to all CharityComms corporate partners in Summer 2021. If you have questions about Brand Breakfast sponsorship opportunities, please email Vanessa
