Charities have swathes of facts and figures and it can be really tempting to shout about every last one of them. But in a world where people are bombarded with incessant information charities need to be smart about presenting data.
Visualising your data can explain complex issues succinctly in a compelling way and demonstrate your impact… if done well! The format also makes it ideal for sharing on social media. Not only that but it will help your whole organisation understand the data better too. It sounds like a great solution but it can be a major creative challenge.
At this event, HelpAge International discussed the data selection and creative processes behind their beautiful and varied infographics, and Anthony Nolan’s Horacio Herrera-Richmond gave an overview of the key elements from the Guardian Masterclass in Data Visualisation (he’d strongly recommend the course) and shared examples of how the course helped the studio’s work at Anthony Nolan.

About the Creatives Group
It’s a gathering of creative leads, editors, publications managers, designers, production folk, content producers and more.
Each event focuses on a different creative topic with a presentation, group discussions and networking.
These events are a great opportunity to meet your peers, compare notes on workplace practices and share successes, ideas, challenges and inspiration. The group is designed to encourage networking and peer to peer support, sharing issues in a ‘safe’ environment.
If you’d like to be added to the Creatives Group mailing list to hear about our upcoming events please contact Vanessa Weddell.
