It’s important to make sure that the content you’re gathering, producing and using is ethical. Everything from giving your contributors rights to participate and be heard, to experience respect and dignity, to make informed decisions, and to be protected from risk and harm.
In this session, we share top tips to help you on your ethical content journey.

Our ethical content journey - Motor Neurone Disease Association Motor neurone disease (MND) is a fatal, rapidly progressing disease. It attacks the nerves that control movement, which can leave people unable to move, talk, eat, drink and breathe. The MND Association is the leading charity in England Wales and Northern Ireland supporting people living with MND and those close to them. Emily discussed the journey the Association is on to ensure its personal stories are gathered, shared and managed in an ethical way, giving voice and agency back to the storytellers impacted by this complex and brutal disease. Ethical content gathering for impactful storytelling Stories are at the heart of most charities: they’re crucial to show people the importance of our work and inspire people to get involved. But stories are also the real lives of individuals and we all have a duty to gather and share them ethically and responsibly. Tamsin shared her insights from years in the charity sector, both international and UK, as a key contributor to the BOND ethical content guidelines, and as a story contributor herself through her recent cancer treatment. About the Creatives Group
This networking group is for professionals working in in-house creative teams (of one or more people) within UK charities and not-for-profits. It’s a gathering of creative leads, editors, publications managers, designers, production folk, content producers and more.
The group meets three times a year to focus on a common challenge. The format of the meetings is one or two presentations on a specific topic, with small group discussions, providing a combination of best practice and peer-to-peer sharing.
The events give you the chance to meet your peers, compare notes on workplace practices and share successes, ideas, challenges and inspiration. The group is designed to encourage networking and peer to peer support, sharing issues in a ‘safe’ environment.
If you’d like to be one of the first to hear about these events, please email [email protected] to be added to the mailing list.
If you’re interested in presenting at a future event please contact Vanessa.
