Head of PR and campaigns

Director of communications

Role purpose:

To generate positive and well represented coverage of the brand. To raise our profile through a PR strategy working closely with the head of media production and the online manager to ensure multiplatform delivery. To project manage campaigns.

Key responsibilities:

  • To manage the promotion of stories – proactively seeking means of raising our profile utilising a wide range of key staff, celebrities and stakeholders
  • To develop and project manage the delivery of campaigns as outlined in the business plan. To clarify the overall organisational objectives of each campaign and work across the team to deliver
  • To develop our annual PR plan in conjunction with the visitor marketing team and manage implementation
  • To provide crisis management plans and respond to situations that require PR/media guidance
  • To develop and maintain excellent working relations with the press and media partners
  • To manage the press office, through direct line management of a PR manager and through working closely with the visitor marketing, media production and online teams
  • To ensure all delivery has the necessary checks in place to protect our reputation and brand
  • To manage the PR budget in accordance with finance guidelines
  • To monitor media, managing and providing a daily news cutting service and making key staff aware of issues that affect our work or reputation
