Internal comms with impact: how to use more inclusive language Internal comms can be the voice of our charity, shaping our culture and guiding how we see ourselves. By choosing specific, accurate, respectful and inclusive language, we can capture colleagues’ attention and consistently connect with our team. But there’s also a risk. Careless words and phrases can confuse, distress and harm people. So it’s vital that we choose our words with care. In this session, Ettie will cover practical tips for using inclusive language in your internal communications. Ettie will focus on language around race, disability, gender and sexual orientation, as well as some broader principles you can apply to other identities and issues.
