The future is voice
These events are for heads of digital as we will be discussing strategic issues
To book your place, please email Harri: email@example.com
The Amazon Echo was the most popular purchase on Amazon for Christmas 2017. There are now 50 billion voice searches per month and this is expected to grow to 200 billion by 2020. Voice search is big.
Alexa skills are changing the way brands engage with consumers. So what are the opportunities for charities?
Kicking off the event, the team at Addition by WPN Chameleon will share current insights on the market for Alexa skills and voice donations. We’ll then hear from Breast Cancer Care and Age UK on how they’ve been using Alexa skills.
After the talks, we’ll then have group discussions based on the World Café methodology, with three sets of 20-minute discussions. After each 20-minute set we’ll collect feedback from the group as a whole, and then delegates will switch groups for the next set. Here are the discussion questions:
- Do you have an Amazon Echo/Google Home and if so, how has it integrated into your life? Has it changed anything?
- Can you think of one thing your charity does that could benefit from voice?
- Where do you start?
- How can voice be used in terms of accessibility and reaching audiences that websites and apps can’t reach?
- How easy do you think it will be to convince the powers that be that we should be investing time, effort and money in this?
Is there something missing? Have your say in steering the content of the discussions by emailing Harri.

About the Heads of Digital group
This networking group is exclusively for heads of digital working in UK charities and not-for-profits with a turnover of more than £2 million.
The format of the evening is networking followed by round-table discussion, led by our excellent facilitators, feeding into the group as a whole.
The group meets three times a year to discuss strategic issues facing digital leads at large charities. The group is designed to encourage networking and peer-to-peer support, sharing issues in a ‘safe’ and relaxed environment.
If you’d like to be one of the first to hear about these events please email Harri to be added to the Heads of Digital mailing list.
